Oregon: The Studio in the Woods
The site for the BodyMindMovement SME Program in Oregon is at the Studio in the Woods, on a 10-acre parcel bordering Bureau of Land Management forests in the Siuslaw watershed of the Lorane Valley in the western part of the state. This natural wilderness area, far from the physical and emotional demands of technology, provides the opportunity to experience simple living with an emphasis on energy and water conservation. Facilities for the residential program include a movement studio for classes (a 1,000-square-foot space that includes two small carpeted rooms and one large room with a sprung hickory wood floor); a main house, which is the primary community space; an outdoor composting restroom, an outdoor shower structure; various tent areas; a pond; two small greenhouses; vegetable, flower, and native plant gardens; and a network of trails through the property and into adjoining forest lands. The windows of the classroom studio overlook the gardens, pond and woods.
Pittsburgh: The Neighborhood Dance Center
